Tehran Municipality to launch new film festival

Tehran Municipality is to launch new int’l short film festival on home quarantine.

The Tehran Municipality has planned to launch a new international short film festival on home quarantine.

Titled the International One Minute Quarantine Mobile Short Film Festival, interested individuals can submit their films to the Tehran Municipality before June 9.

The interested individuals are asked to depict their bittersweet moments, depression, happiness, hope, despair and even death with their cell-phones during the home quarantine battling the spread of COVID-19.

Set to help people share experiences during the home quarantine, ‘Quarantine, Life, Love, Religion’, ‘Quarantine, Family, Children’, ‘Quarantine, Spirit, Home Violence’ and ‘Quarantine, Special Disease, Elderly’ are among the topics of the event.

Iranian cineastes Reza Banafshehkhah, Saeed Soltani, Vahid Mousaeean, Gholam-Hossein Shah-Ali, Sirous Kahourinejad, Azita Mougouee and Saghar Khajeh-Amiri are on the jury panel of the new event.

According to the organizers the festival can help showcase public creativity under conditions where there is no professional equipment, and that make the most out of the least.

The COVID-19 (coronavirus) originated in China in late 2019 and later spread to many other countries.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the virus a global pandemic.

More than four million people have been infected with the novel virus across the globe, and at least 280,000 people have died from the virus worldwide.
